S’lk

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Favored Weapon: Dagger

Goddess of Chaos and Pleasure. Worshiped by those who feel rejected by society and despise authority. Followers of S’lk feel that anarchy and chaos are the natural order, strength and cunning are the only things to be respected and that personal pleasure is the noblest pursuit. This god’s name is apparently derived from an ancient form of the Tiamaran word for “pleasure.” Some scholars believe this is where the textile “silk” got its name, but this claim remains hotly disputed among philologists. Her avatar differs slightly among the various races who follow her, but it is always some variation of a scantily clad female, smiling, wielding a dagger in one hand and gesturing rudely with the other.

Yxys

Posted by: Galen Dilby    in Deities

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Favored Weapon: Flail

God of Malice and Revenge to those who are good-aligned and God of Justice to those who are evil-aligned. Also called the Father of Despair by followers of Aam. This god’s name is derived from a variation of the orcish word for “flail”. Followers of Yxys claim that he has been betrayed by Aam, who is really his brother, not his creator. For being thrown from favor, followers believe that Yxys is owed a debt of respect and servitude as much as Aam. Devotees of Yxys feel it is their duty to undermine all “good” endeavors and thereby restore the balance upended by Aam — to serve justice, as they see it. His avatar is a black robed, faceless figure wielding a huge flail in one hand and a set of scales in the other.

Aam

Posted by: Galen Dilby    in Deities

Alignment: Lawful Good

Favored Weapon: Morningstar

For the last 500 years, a monotheistic faith has been growing throughout Aerda. Its followers believe that the gods of old are not gods in the true sense, but are instead powerful celestial beings who either serve or defy the one true god, Aam (“Father”), also called Aam Nir (“Father of Light”). Followers of Aam are called Children of Aam, Children of the Light, Followers of the Light, etc. They believe that Aam spoke the universe into existence and that the first thing he created was light, which is why they call him Father of Light. They also believe that Aam created the other “gods” to serve him, but that some rebelled and became evil, chief among the rebels being Yxys. Aam’s avatar is typically a shining light, a lantern, a light house, etc. Followers of Aam avoid representing their deity as any kind of creature or humanoid.
