Wold Coins

Posted by: Galen Dilby   in Miscellanea

Throughout the Wolds, the coins most commonly accepted by merchants in any city are the so called “Wold coins,” which are minted by commission of the Council of Lords in the City of Highmarket. These coins are:

1 crown (made of gold) = 10 shillings (made of silver) = 100 pennies (made of copper).

Less common is the sovereign, worth 10 crowns and made of platinum.
